Building Systems

Gable Flush Girt

The GF-S system is economical for small widths (50 ft. and under) in which column free floor area is required. It provides maximum interior clearance in comparison to GE-S systems. It is less economical than the GE-T system except for narrow buildings with small bay spacing (25 ft. or under). The GF-S system is well suited to small to medium commercial and industrial applications. The GF-S system in not recommended for building projects using collateral walls.

The GF-S system makes the most of interior floor area while maintaining maximum vertical clearances. The interior frames of this gable roof system have straight flush framed sidewall columns and may have unit beam clear span rafters. This not only permits an efficient frame design, but also simplifies erection and the design and installation of the building’s interior finish materials.

The transverse sectional dimensions are intended for use during the building planning stage and are based on: width, height, loads as charted, roof slope of 1/12, and bay spacing of 25’-0”. These dimensions will vary when: different design criteria’s or other loads, open or partially open walls, width extensions, canopies, overhangs, etc., are supplemented to the system.
